Issue
I have just upgraded pip from version 9 to 20 , however when i listed the files at $HOME/.local/bin
there was three files
~ $ ls /home/user/.local/bin | grep pip
pip
pip3
pip3.6
~/.local/bin $ ./pip --version
pip 20.3.3 from /home/user/.local/lib/python3.6/site-packages/pip (python 3.6)
~/.local/bin $ ./pip3 --version
pip 20.3.3 from /home/user/.local/lib/python3.6/site-packages/pip (python 3.6)
~/.local/bin $ ./pip3.6 --version
pip 20.3.3 from /home/user/.local/lib/python3.6/site-packages/pip (python 3.6)
~ $ which pip
/home/user/.local/bin/pip
Which one is which , and which one(s) should i delete (if legible)?
Solution
pip is already installed if you are using Python 2 >=2.7.9 or Python 3 >=3.4 downloaded from python.org or if you are working in a Virtual Environment created by virtualenv or venv. Just make sure to upgrade pip.
By this method..
$ python -m pip --version
Or For More Information you can visit here....
Delete all first two versions and keep the last version from yourself i.e.(latest version). I hope now your doubt is clear
